Ex- Physician Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
