Jones additionally emphasized that the gesture was entirely accidental, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the incorrect finger,” he noted. “It was accidentally done. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved rapidly.”
