The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL
That result may have opened things up for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an surprising result - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was still a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the NFL's top running game was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just later
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've seen this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the American Football Conference East
In Focus - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their combined 24 wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Orchard Park appears to be a statement
Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight wins, similar to the Broncos, from that point - but taking down Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was significant
Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly earns credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his team to success
The defensive unit is solid and rookie running back Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different runner to exceed 22mph this season on his initial touchdown
While you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the best record due to their schedule - which features just one game against a winning team, although a significant contest against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There's a long way to go but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Clash
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different eight and two teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each scored forty points to go to 7-2 ahead of next week's major game between the pair in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defenses allowing fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could realistically be without a loss as well - especially the Rams as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're truly two of the best sides in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year so far
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 yards, registering three scores and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
